Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This policy explains what data Naturalismo collects, what it's used for, who it's shared with, and what rights you have over it, in line with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13.709/2018).
What data we collect
If you create an account: name (optional), email, and password (stored only as a hash, never in plain text). If you subscribe to the newsletter: just the email you provide. In both cases, we automatically log the IP address of requests, for a limited period, as part of the site's security mechanisms (e.g. rate limiting against abuse and blocking disposable email domains). We don't collect sensitive data (health, biometrics, racial origin, etc.) or ask for more information than each feature actually needs.
What we use this data for
Email and password exist to enable login and account recovery. Name, when provided, is used only to personalize the experience (e.g. a greeting). The newsletter email is used exclusively to send notices about new published articles. IP addresses are used only for the site's operational security, never for commercial profiling or advertising — Naturalismo doesn't run ads or sell data to third parties.
Security measures
We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or leakage — such as storing passwords as hashes (never in plain text) and rate-limiting to reduce automated intrusion attempts. For security reasons, we don't publicly detail the specific mechanisms used.
Who we share data with
We share data with a limited number of service providers, strictly to keep the site running: a provider for transactional and newsletter emails (receives your email only to deliver messages), a cloud hosting provider (stores the database), and third-party services used to load typefaces (may receive your browser's IP as part of any web request). We don't use any analytics or advertising tracking service, and we don't share, sell, or rent your data for third-party marketing purposes.
Cookies and local storage
Naturalismo doesn't use tracking or analytics cookies. Your login session is kept through the browser's local storage (localStorage), which holds only an access token and exists solely on your device — unlike a cookie, it isn't sent automatically with every request, and it's cleared when you log out or clear the site's data in your browser.
How long we keep your data
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. You can request deletion at any time via the contact below. Newsletter subscriptions remain on record even after cancellation (with status changed to "unsubscribed", without erasing the history), to prove that an unsubscribe request was honored. IP logs used for security are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
Your rights
At any time, by contacting us, you can: confirm what data we hold about you, correct it, request deletion of your account, ask for a copy of your data (portability), and revoke the consent given at signup. For the newsletter, cancellation can be done directly through the unsubscribe page, with no need to contact us.
